The Cockatoo Chip'ole

From Ian B. Why? Why call a chippy The Cockatoo? What could they have been thinking?

The Golden Fish, Harry's Plaice; those are proper names for chippys. The Cockatoo - I ask you?

French cock shop

Final entries from Tim's adventures in France (for this year anyway)! Both from the same shop, which has worked hard to establish a cock-based theme to its hard and soft furnishings range.

Cock on a plate

This might be a charity shop cock - but the submission lacked detail of any kind. Come on Timothy Charles, buck your ideas up. We require quality, not just quantity of cock.

A plethora of charity shop cocks

Proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that Britain's charity shops are probably the best in the world for bringing together the cocks that used to belong to the recently deceased and to people who no longer want poor quality cock shaped ornaments littering their mantlepieces.

Apologies if some of these prove to be chickens.

Pencil top cock

Cock impaled on a pencil - for sale at the Minories Museum in Colchester. Who needs a rubber on the end of your pencil when you have a cock instead?

Cock sat on a pig

At a car boot sale near Colchester. Where else would any self respecting cock perch but on top of a very large pig?

Cocks on sticks

From the Waldegraves boot sale again - cock kebabs this time - there are some sick bas*ards about who want to have this kind of cruelty on display in their gardens. What's the world coming to etc..........

Cocks on a tea tray

These fine depictions of the proud cockerel were discovered being sold extremely cheaply at the West Mersea car boot sale on Waldegraves Holiday Park - a venue that has a pleasing number of unexpectedly arising cocks to be captured by the discerning cocking colleague.

Arthur Cock - Butcher

This has got to be a candidate for at least July's cock of the month. I can't think of anything to write that can make it funnier than it already is! True cocking genius from the meat trade on Mersea Island.

Tiptree farmgate fresh eggs

From the car boot sale at Ardleigh near Colchester. Great marketing: display a large cock and your eggs will fly off the shelves.

Oxfam shop in Frinton on Sea

A lovely set of period crockery with pictures of cocks on them. Lovely............... and a second instance of an eggcup with a cockerel on it in as many hours. The world of cocking is full of mysteries and strange coincidences.

Fast food shop in London

How hungry / drunk do you really have to be to actually choose to eat in an establishment whose signage is so poor. For the last time, noone wants to knowingly eat cockerels - show a picture of a nice juicy chicken or a young veal calf and you might actually get some custom.Londoners are so gullible.

Cockatoo

A notably cheap and tacky attempt by the Australian authorities to extract the last dollars from unwary travellers before they board their flights at Melbourne airport. Very poor memorabilia, but excellent cocking!

Disturbing cock in stockings and suspenders

Caught in Launceston Tasmania. But I sort of feel a bit queezy and wish I had never seen this one.......

Red Torpedo

Heathrow airport again! I think it was a CD cover or something - but I've no idea really.

Colourful cock in a shop

In a home furnishing / gift shop sort of thingy in Colchester. Would be a proud addition to any cock collector's mantlepiece.

Southern Fried Cock

In Elmstead Market Essex - not sure why anyone would be tempted to buy food advertised using a stringy old cockerel; and why is it wearing a sombrero?

Hancock's Newsagent

Near Fort Halstead again - I had to leg it because the shopkeeper thought I was a shoplifter rather than a keen cock hunter capturing a record of a fine example of calling something cock.

Cobley and Cockshott

What better place to buy all your doorknob and stopcock requirements?

Peacocks

This first one is the Peacocks branch in Frinton-on-Sea. We are keen to welcome entries from other branches or from Peacocks employees wearing the Peacocks branded uniform - what a great chance to get involved in some serious cocking!

The second one is Peacocks in Colchester - this could get really boring very quickly indeed!

Yep - I'm bored. Don't send me anymore of these please.

.....but wait a minute; is that a flicker of interest being reignited after many months? No its a Peacocks wagon and its very very boring!

Copper Cocks

Stocked in a Homebase near you - flocks of cocks in copper.
